Practical Horizon 2020 workshop held at Antonov

31 January 2018

Following Antonov’s initiative, an information and practical workshop “Aviation research in EU Framework Programmes: Opportunities for Ukraine” took place in the premises of Antonov on 25 January 2018.

Mr. Olexandr Los, Vice-President of Antonov, welcomed the workshop participants and expressed his company’s interest in widening international scientific and technical cooperation with European aviation organisations. He also underlined the importance of joint efforts to tackle global challenges caused by aviation’s impact on the environment and climate.

During the workshop, Ukraine’s Horizon 2020 Transport national contact point (NCP) presented general information about the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme and details of open aviation-oriented calls in the Horizon 2020 Transport Work Programme 2018-2019. Also, specific attention was paid to the Clean Sky 2 Joint Undertaking, which offers the largest opportunity for science and industry cooperation in aviation on the European level, and its currently open 7th Call for Proposals.

Furthermore, a discussion was held regarding different opportunities and barriers relevant to the participation of Ukrainian aviation organisations in Horizon 2020, together with representatives of Antonov’s subdivisions, as well as invited experts from the National Aviation University and several research institutes of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine.

The workshop was held under the umbrella of the H2020 AERO-UA and RADIAN projects.
