KhAI make it a hat trick!
11.12.2019
Following on from the success of their AMBEC and DeNOx project proposals, the National Aerospace University “KhAI” in Kharkiv have very recently won a third project under the Clean Sky 2 programme.
The new, two-year project is called EVAL and will be undertaken by KhAI together with the Latvian SME company Allatherm. They aim to produce a passive cooling device demonstrator - based on a loop heat pipe technology - for efficient thermal management of the bleed system valves in an ultra-high bypass ratio (UHBR) engine.
It is anticipated the EVAL thermal management system will become an “enabling technology” that ensures accurate and precise regulation of airflow in UHBR engines and contributes to the engines’ reliable and efficient long-term operation.
